You have probably already heard of the Seigneurie des Aulnaies in Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies. It is often mentioned for its magnificent heritage heritage. We talk about the mill, the manor, the bakery. But today, with my perspective as a former horticulturist, I want to praise its horticultural assets.

The sunsets over the Charlevoix mountains are a colorful sight from the L'Islet wharf. It is because we were invited by Tourisme Chaudière-Appalaches to follow the route proposed by the podcast "Ralentis, la marée monte", between L'Islet and Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies, that we attended that evening, the eve of departure, at this moment of great beauty in the company of people gathered to admire it.

The Véloroute champêtre, which passes through the Appalachian villages, offers you numerous viewpoints on the river and on various attractive circuits. Here, in the L'Islet region, you can discover the best snack bars and gourmet stops. The Route verte round-trip route is 71 km long; intermediate routes vary from 19 to 57 km. In the mid-18th century, building a flour mill was part of the Lord’s obligations to his vassals in order to ensure their livelihood. The Seigneurie des Aulnaies therefore saw the erection of a first mill in 1739.
