Maison Dion
In a few words
Located in the heart of the town l'Islet-sur-Mer, between the church and the Maritime Museum, this ancestral home is unique: it has never suffered a historically destructive renovation since it was constructed almost 200 years ago. Rare fact: this home has always been inhabited by the descendants of the Dion and Bélanger families. Every piece of authentic furniture and object preciously conserved for more than 5 generations allows us to share with our guests the history of our ancestors with, both, pride and humor. Come see the old kitchen and the authentic stone chimney, the winks of 3 generations of medicines in the apothecary with its grimoires and instruments. Come admire the staircase created by an artistic genius. In the living room and the dining room there are unique pieces of furniture, music, paintings, children's games and antiques dishes on display. Winner of the 2007 Heritage Awards in the interpretation category.
