In a few words

In the menu, the restaurant offers regional products. Member of the Gourmands Stops of Chaudière Appalaches, the restaurant procures the products from suppliers in the region.

A traditional bread oven was built in the small park on the east side of the restaurant. Come and feel the good bread cooked in the bread oven of La Roche à Veillon!

Products are also available at the counter: pâtés, cipâtes, pies, breads, cakes, squares with dates, biscuits, sausages, terrines, maple products, pâtés, cheese, etc. Daily lunch menus are offered. Watch the activities of the 2023 season!

Where tradition makes conquests!

For Real!

This project has been conceived by 10 local businessmen in countering the adverse effects when building the planned highway. In 1964, we created the 1st "Boîte à chansons" and in 1965, the restaurant.

Arrêts Gourmands The know-how of our gourmet stops - La Roche à Veillon: a dive into the heart of Quebec's culinary heritage

Born in 1964 from a non-profit association wishing to keep people on the edge of route 132 during the construction of the Jean-Lesage highway, La Roche à Veillon was originally one of the first Quebec boîtes à chansons. The following year, the beautiful barn also attracted tourists with the aroma of regional dishes simmered by Madame Lucille Fortin.

On vacation an hour from home!

Ah ! Saint-Jean-Port-Joli ! Here is a village that lives up to its name! As I am lucky enough to live in the neighbouring MRC, only an hour away, it is not uncommon for me to head to Saint-Jean-Port-Joli for one or two days, simply to get a change of scenery. The experience works like a charm: every time I take exit 414 off the 20, I immediately switch to "vacation" mode, even though I'm only a few steps from home!
